Dear Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton Elementary Families,
The 2025-26 school year is upon us, and the students' first day of school will be Tuesday, September 2. I’m excited to begin my first year as principal and want to share some important information about the start of the school year.
Registration: Families must complete student registration through Skyward. If you need help accessing student registration, please contact Marissa Buchholz, the elementary administrative assistant, [email protected].
Back to School Night: Join us on Thursday, August 28, from 6:00–8:00 PM. Students can meet their teachers, drop off school supplies, visit classrooms, and get transportation information. Food service deposits may also be made at this time. There will also be a brief Title I informational meeting at 7:00 PM in the Elementary Gym—we encourage all families to attend.
School Day Schedule: Doors open at 7:45 AM, and the school day begins promptly at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:05 PM. More details on student drop-off and pick-up locations will be shared at Back to School Night.
Student Devices & Insurance: All elementary students will be issued a one-to-one device for learning. Families are responsible for any damage to the device during the school year. Optional device insurance is available to families for a small fee that can be paid online or in the office. We strongly encourage families to take advantage of this coverage to help reduce out-of-pocket costs in the event of accidental damage. You can enroll in device insurance during the online registration process.
Meal Service: Breakfast will once again be provided free of charge to all students. The cost of lunch for Pre-K and Kindergarten students is $2.50, and First through Sixth graders is $2.80, with an additional milk available for $0.40.
We encourage all families to complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application to determine eligibility for meal benefits. If approved, you may decline the benefit if you prefer to pay the full price. Applications can be in Skyward during registration, and hard copies are available in the offices.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to a positive and successful year, working together to ensure every child feels valued, supported, and challenged to grow.
Warm regards,
Kristi Vlasak
Principal, Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton Elementary School
