High School Boys Basketball Summer League Sign-up:  Boys entering 9th-12th grades for the 2018-2019 school year can sign up to play summer league basketball in La Crosse.  Summer league basketball games will be held every Tuesday night from June 5th-July 24th.  By signing up to play summer basketball on Tuesday nights, you are committing to being there at scheduled game times and getting your own transportation to the game each week.  This year each player will be required to pay $15 to help cover the cost of the league and everyone  must have a black/white reversible jersey with a number on it.  (The entry fee money will be collected once  we are officially signed up and incoming freshmen will get a reversible jersey order form soon).  YOU MUST BE SIGNED UP NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, APRIL 6TH.  The sign-up sheet is in the high school office.

There is still room on the European tour to Greece and there is still time to sign up.  EF Tours is offering the $100 discount to anyone who signs up between now and March 30th.  If interested, please see Mr. Menn.  Also, feel free to go to EFTours.com to check out the trip (once on the EFTours website, select "Parents & students, enroll on your teacher's tour" and enter tour number 2002281ea for all the information concerning the trip).  This chance of a lifetime is still available to you.  Hope you can join us!

Wisconsin Law (Act 455) requires any child under the age of 16 and a minimum of 12 who operates a farm tractor on a highway (public road) to be certified as having successfully completed a tractor and machinery safety course.  There are no family or relative exemptions.  See Mr. Von Ruden for the necessary paperwork and more detailed information.  Tractor and Machinery Safety Certification will be June 18-20 in Sparta.

On April 10th, Mr. Menn is taking students to WTC in La Crosse for an open house of the Diesel and Automotive facilities.  Students can check out the facilities, meet instructors and learn about details concerning the diesel and automotive programs.  Any student interested in attending may go, but needs to register.  Therefore, any student who wants to go, must see Mr. Menn to let him know that you are interested by April 1st.

Movie Special Effects Summer Workshop!  One of the sponsors for the FX TV show, Face Off, is having a summer workshop in Chicago teaching movie special effects make-up techniques to high school students.  Kryolan, the makers of most of the make-up and art materials used on special effects make-up, is offering this workshop.  A student from Hillsboro is interested in going but is looking for other high school students to go with so money can be saved on hotel & travel costs.  If you are interested, talk to Miss Holte and check out the the website:  https://us.kryolan.com/event/make-up-summer-camp-teens-fx-edition. 

Student interested in taking Driver's Ed. class this summer may sign up in the HS Office.  The class will be held during summer school hours (July 9th-26th) and the behind the wheel portion will take place next fall when school resumes.  Cost is $300.

The Necedah Chess Club would like to welcome players of all ages to participate in our Spring Chess Tournament held on Saturday, April 7th, 2018.  The event is free to everyone!  Beginners are encouraged to participate.  Registration forms can be picked up in the HS Office.

HS STUDENTS:  During Lunch, students are to be in the COMMONS, in the CORRIDOR, or in the HALLWAY BETWEEN MR. VON RUDEN'S ROOM & THE BATHROOMS - NOWHERE ELSE.

The next detentions will be on March 28th, from 3:15-4:45.

JUNIORS:  There is a list of those that owe dues on Mr. Buechel's door.  Dues are $10 and payable to Karina Hansen.

There is a lot of sickness spreading throughout the community and school.  If you are sick please do not come back to school until 24 hours after your fever has resolved, the last you've thrown up, or have had diarrhea.  We need to be mindful as we work to prevent the spread of illness by staying home if sick and washing hands frequently and thoroughly.  To support your immune system, make sure you are eating healthy and getting adequate rest.  Thank you for your help and cooperation!

The High School Office does not open until 7:45 am.

Students that have their permit & will be driving with the instructor need to bring their permit EVERY DAY.  The driving instructor will coming on Mondays and Fridays starting the week of Feb. 12th.

Athletes who have been contacted by Mr. Clinton about concussion testing need to report to the Black Lab on Monday, March 19.  Testing begins at 3:20, and should take about 40 minutes.
